FOOTHILL AREA JAIL

Foothill Area Jail houses a cadre of defendants who are being booked.  Holdover inmates who are waiting to be transferred and detainees who are waiting to post bail are also being held here.

Foothill Area Jail is managed by the Foothill Community Police Station, which is under the jurisdiction of Valley Bureau.

Foothill Community Police Station is responsible for the following areas:

  • Lakeview Terrace
  • Shadow Hills
  • Tujunga
  • Arleta
  • Sun Valley (North of Golden State Freeway)
  • Sunland

If the defendant fails to post bail, he or she will immediately be transferred to a larger county jail such as Men’s Central Jail, Twin Towers Correctional Facility, or Century Regional Detention Facility.

If the defendant was able to post bail, the said person will be released after he or she has been booked. Booking involves making an entry of the defendant’s personal information and details of the arrest into the arrest book. The defendant will be photographed and fingerprinted as well.

Since Foothill Area Jail is relatively small compared to other county jails, the booking process is faster. If the defendant fails to post bail at Foothill Area Jail and is transferred to a larger county jail, bailing the defendant out will be much longer; sometimes more than a day.

A Step-by-Step Bail Bond Process

  1. First, give us a call at 800-333-7800 to start the bail bond process right away.
  2. Second, we will send you the necessary documents for you to sign. There’s no need to physically go to our office to do this. They will be sent to you through our secured digital transaction management service. The co-guarantor (if the defendant has one) will have to sign the bail bond documents as well. A co-guarantor will be responsible for the defendant. This includes ensuring that the defendant will appear in all his trials.
  3. Third, post a collateral if needed. However, we don’t require a collateral in most cases.
  4. Then pay the bond premium. This is usually 10% of the bond amount. We offer low bond premium in special cases. We also have several convenient payment options.
  5. Finally, the bail bondsman will post the bond at Foothill Area Jail.
