What is a California Guaranteed Traffic Arrest Bail Bond?
This bond is required if a nonresident cannot provide satisfactory evidence of identity and an address within this state when the said person was arrested for violating the California Vehicle Code while driving a commercially registered motor vehicle with a weight of 7,000 pounds or more.
This bond will be used for the payment of fines or bail assessed against the arrested person for violation of the California Vehicle Code with the exception of the following:
- If the person is arrested while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- If the person is arrested while driving without a license or driving with a suspended or revoked license.
- If the person is arrested while operating a motor vehicle without the permission of the owner.
- If the person arrested committed any violation punishable as a felony.
A statement guaranteeing the appearance of a person to whom a guaranteed traffic arrest bail bond certificate is issued must be submitted to the Secretary of State along with this bond.
This bond is in pursuance of Section 40305.5 of the California Vehicle Code.
