- Adult Residential, Adult Day Programs, or Social Rehabilitation Facility
- Foster Family Home/Agency, Group Home, Small Family Home or Residential Care Facility
The purpose of this bond is to ensure that the license applicant will comply with the relevant statutes, ordinances, rules, and regulations. It will also be conditioned that the monies that the said community care facilities will receive will be protected from any unlawful acts.
Those who are required to get this bond handles money for the community care facility for less than $50 per person and less than $500 for all persons in any month.
How does a California Community Care Facility Licensing Bond work?
A bond guarantees the fulfillment of the license applicant’s (Principal) bonded obligations to the Obligee (State of California). The Obligee can be any person under the care of the licensee or has given the licensee’s money while in the community care facility. The Obligee can file a claim if the Principal commits a bonded violation that resulted in harming the Obligee.
The Surety will ensure that the Obligee will be compensated if this happens. But before the Surety settles the claim, the Surety will first check if the claim is valid and if it’s covered by the bond. Once the claim has been verified, the Obligee will be paid up to the maximum value of the bond. Once done, the Principal must reimburse the Surety.
How much does a California Community Care Facility Licensing Bond cost?
The bond cost will usually start at 1% of the bond amount for license applicants who have excellent credit scores. The bond cost will be higher for those who have low credit scores.
The bond amount will be determined by the California Department of Health Services.
