ABOUT WHITTIER JAIL

Whittier Jail’s mission is “to maintain the safety, security and well-being of our community and the inmates in our custody”.

This privately run, Type 1 jail can accommodate up to 31 adult inmates (22 females and 9 males). Those who are being detained here are facing misdemeanor and felony charges.

Pre-trial inmates are permitted to stay in Whittier Jail for up to 72 hours or after the arraignment. After such time, they will be turned over to the court.

The arrestees are processed soon after their arrival. Their fingerprints will be taken using Live Scan.

The scanned fingerprints will then be transmitted to the California Department of Justice in Sacramento for proper identification of the arrestee.

Whittier Jail employs a jail supervisor to oversee the duties of 9 trained jailers. The jail supervisor must undergo a California Board of Corrections STC certified supervisory training prior to employment.

G4S Secure Solutions provides the jailers. All jailers at Whittier Jail have completed a California Standard and Corrections STC certified Corrections Officer Academy.

The jail staff is responsible for the overall well-being of those who are being held in Whittier Jail. This includes ensuring that the inmates are well-fed, safe, and healthy.

They are responsible for transporting inmates to courts as well as processing bail bonds.

Can I get a bail bond from you online?

Yes. We use a secured online transaction management service to process bail bonds.

The bail bond forms will be electronically sent to you. As long as you have a sufficient Internet access, you will receive the forms immediately.

Send us back the filled out forms. Don’t forget to digitally sign them.

Once the documents are signed, the bail bondsman will execute the bond and post it for the immediate release of your loved one.

How much will I pay the bail bondsman? Is it refundable?

The amount that you will pay the bail bondsman is called the bond premium. It is usually 10% of the bail amount set by the judge. In some cases, we can lower the bond premium to 8%.

The bond premium is the fee owed by the defendant and co-signers (if any) for the bondsman’s services, therefore it is non-refundable.
