West Hollywood Jail

West Hollywood Jail is operated by the West Hollywood Station. It is a substation of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

West Hollywood Jail is one of the most notable neighborhoods when it comes to the film industry.

The area is filled with recognizable landmarks that makes the place distinctly L.A. – from Two Rodeo in Beverly Hills to Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood Boulevard.

Offenders who have been arrested within the city will be brought to Wet Hollywood Jail. The arrestees will be searched for any contraband before they are booked.

There are two booking cells in this city jail: one is dedicated to female arrestees and the other one is for male arrestees.

The arrestee will then go through a series of evaluations starting with an officer asking the arrestee’s full name and the reason for the arrest among others.

Once the officer hands over the paperwork to the jailer, the jailer will then continue the booking procedure.

The jailer will make sure that the paperwork will be processed correctly in order to avoid any problems when the arrestee is brought to court.

The arrestee’s fingerprints will be live scanned. This will be counterchecked with city, county, and state authorities in order to determine the identity of the arrestee.

A mug shot will be taken. If the arrestee has tattoos, those will be photographed and documented as well.

Arrestee will be classified and assigned to his or her designated cell. There are a total of 9 cells in West Hollywood Jail.

  • Cell 1 – drunk tank
  • Cells 2 and 3 – arrestees charged with misdemeanor
  • Cells 4 and 5 – arrestees charged with felony
  • Cells 6 and 7 – gays
  • Cell 8 – transgenders
  • Cell 9 – females
