Pitchess Detention Center North Facility

Pitchess Detention Center North Facility is one of the four operational correctional facilities within the complex that was named after the 28th Sheriff of Los Angeles County, Peter J. Pitchess.

The PDC North Facility is composed of 4 modules. Each module contains 4 dormitories, 8 disciplinary cells, medical office, visiting area, two dorm control rooms, main control room, and a multi-purpose room (MPR).

Most of the persons being detained here are pre-sentenced and sentenced males.

This maximum security complex is operated by the Los Angeles County Jail, which is considered to be the biggest jail system in the world.

The PDC North Facility is located northwest of the old Ranch Facility. Pitchess Detention Center was established in 1938 by Sheriff Eugene Biscailuz.

The North Facility, however, opened years later, in 1987. The currently closed PDC East Facility opened in 1951.

In the same year, oil was discovered in PDC. The oil wells that were discovered in the area remained productive until 2016.

Pitchess Detention Center was once called the Wayside Honor Rancho due to its farm setting.

The inmates back then used to do farm work. But in 1992, all farm operations were cancelled due to budget problems.

Aside from performing farm work, vocational courses such as baking were provided in an effort to arm inmates with useful knowledge that they can use once they got out.

What is the total amount that you should pay?

The amount that you have to put up will depend on the bail amount set by the court for the type of offense that your loved one has allegedly committed.

You don’t have to provide the entire bail amount. You only have to pay the bond premium.

The bond premium or the amount that you will provide the bail bondsman for his services will be 10% of the bail amount.

For example, if the bail amount set by the court is $30,000, the bond premium will be $3,000.

In some special cases, we can lower our bond premium to 8%. Call us to know if you qualify.

What are the different modes of payment for the surety bond premium?

We offer several payment options for your convenience. You can use one or a combination of the following:

  • Cash
  • Credit Card
  • Money Orders
  • Wire Transfer of Funds
  • Personal Checks (restrictions apply)
  • Direct Deposit any Bank of America branch
