LAKEWOOD JAIL

Lakewood Jail is the on-site correctional facility of the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station. Pre-trial detainees have an average stay of not more than 96 hours before they are transferred to other county jails.

Prior to the transfer, the arrestees’ personal information are entered into the jail system through the process of booking.

While being booked, the arrestees are allowed to call a family member, an attorney, and a bail bondman. If the arrestee is allowed to post bail, they can do so once they are booked.

Lakewood Jail is directly under the care of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Any person who is arrested within the following areas will be brought to Lakewood Jail:

  • Artesia
  • Bellflower
  • Cerritos
  • Hawaiian Gardens
  • Lakewood
  • Paramount

In its effort to promote positive relationships between police officers and the residents of Lakewood, Lakewood Sheriff’s Station offers a Ride-Along Program.

Chosen participants can take a ride with the police officers as they traverse the city. The participants will have a better understanding of what they do by directly observing law enforcement activities.

This will happen after he or she has been booked. Usually, the booking process for the jail of this size is 1 to 2 hours.

What do I need to pay?

You don’t need to put up the full bail amount because we’ll do it for your loved one who’s being held in Lakewood Jail.

You only need to pay the bond premium. A bond premium is usually 10% of the bail amount. In special cases, we offer a bond premium that’s lower than 10%.

For example, if the judge sets the bail amount at $30,000, the bond premium will be $3,000 or less.

We also offer a no-collateral bond in most cases. Please contact us for further details.
