ABOUT INMATE RECEPTION CENTER

The Inmate Reception Center (IRC) is a primary male inmate intake and release facility within the Los Angeles County. It is the main transfer and pickup point for the following:

  • State prison system
  • Homeland Security’s Immigration and Custom’s Enforcement (ICE)
  • Other governmental agencies
  • Inter facility transfers

The building can house more than 18,000 detainees at a time, and processes about 120,000 inmates per year.

The detainees are booked; physically and mentally assessed; and classified before their identities are lodged into the jail system. This includes storing inmate court records, clothing, property, trust accounts, and mails.

The IRC was previously located in the intake facility of the Men’s Central Jail. That building is now referred to as the IRC Old Side.

The current IRC employs 147 custody assistants, 301 sworn employees, and 399 professional staff.

Some IRC personnel works at the IRC Old Side as well as the Property and Evidence Section, Records Section, Document Control Section, Property Section, and Cashiering Section of Century Regional Detention Center or Lynwood Jail.

How to get a bail bond from us

If you need a bail bond right now, just simply follow the steps below in order to get one ASAP:

STEP 1: Call us at 800-333-7800. We’re ready to take your call 24/7.

STEP 2: Complete the necessary paperwork. You don’t need to go to our office to do this. As long as you have an internet connection, you’ll be able to sign the documents required.

They will be sent to you through our secured digital transaction management service: DigitalBond.

Once we have received the signed documents, we will immediately execute the bond and have our professional bond agent bring the bond to Inmate Reception Center.

STEP 3: Pay the bond premium. This is usually 10% of the bail bond amount set by the judge. The bond premium is for the services provided by the bail bond company.

We offer an 8% bond premium in some cases. Call us to know if you qualify.

STEP 4: Pledge a collateral. In most cases, we offer no-collateral bail bonds. The purpose of collateral is to help protect the bail bond company from losses if the defendant skips bail or fails to appear in court.

STEP 5: The bail bond will be posted and the defendant will be released from Inmate Reception Center. A defendant will only be released after he or she has undergone the booking process.
