Los Angeles California Temporary Sign Permit Bond

Need a Temporary Sign Permit? This surety bond will help you get one ASAP!

What is a Los Angeles California Temporary Sign Permit Bond?

Every person who has applied for a temporary sign permit from the Department of Building and Safety of the City of Los Angeles is required to obtain this surety bond. Compliance of the permit applicant to the relevant laws, specific provisions of Article 1, Chapter 9, and Article 4.4, Chapter 1, and Sections 91.6201.2 and 14.4.17 of the Los Angeles Municipal Code is one of the reasons for this bond.

Once the permit is granted, the permittee will be allowed to place signs on temporary construction walls and/or on solid wood fences surrounding vacant lots according to the said provisions.

This requirement is in accordance with Section 91.6201.2 of the Los Angeles Municipal Code.

The sign permit applicant is required to obtain a separate electrical permit and bond if the sign is illuminated by electrical lights.

How does a Los Angeles California Temporary Sign Permit Bond work?

This bond will serve as monetary protection for the Obligee (City of Los Angeles). The Obligee is the party who will require the Principal (temporary sign permit applicant) to get this bond.

The Principal will obtain the bond from a Surety. Through this bond, the Surety will assume liability for the default of the Principal. If the Principal commits a misdemeanor or violates any of the provisions that govern the temporary sign permit, the Obligee will file a claim against the bond.

The Principal is expected to take care of the claim. If the Principal fails to do so, the Surety will first verify if the claim is covered by the bond and if the claim is valid. Once the claim has been verified, the Surety will pay the Obligee. After the claim is settled, the Surety will ask for reimbursement from the Principal.

How much does a Los Angeles California Temporary Sign Permit Bond cost?
